I thought this was going to get to him way ahead of Valentine’s day, because I mailed it SO SOON, but I was wrong. I was freaking out it wouldn’t get to him in time! LoL. I also mailed him a goofy random card with my gibberish inside of it the same day. The next day, I mailed off a short story that I wrote about an inside joke regarding our three kitties. The day I mailed off the package, I was already almost half done with the second one! I’m convinced I’m going to put us in the poor house, just with creating care packages.
I sent a huge card, too, with a candy bar in it, since I forgot a card in the Valentine’s day package. I’ve mailed a few more cards and a list of “20 things you may not know about my childhood,” which all got there well before the care package.
When I told him how much stuff I was mailing (when he hadn’t gotten even the first thing yet haha), and he told me that the “norm” is maybe a package a month. Some married guys get maybe one package the whole time. Uhhh. My mom said she’s going to mail him goodies, my best friend has expressed that she may mail him something, and I’m over here going crazy with the postal endeavors. ONE PACKAGE THE WHOLE DEPLOYMENT!? That’s INSANE to me. But, I guess different strokes for different folks. I am a little behind on this second package, even though I’d bought most of the stuff in it the day I mailed the first one. But, ideally, I’ll still have 2 more packages sent to him by the end of February.
Side note: My math is bad. I wrote on the Mr.’s care package that it was our 3rd Valentine’s day together. Nope. It’s our 4th. I am a bad wife. I only JUST noticed this

You’d be surprised by how many people didn’t get packages at all during deployment. I sent care packages to friends when they were deployed because no one else was
I always felt bad for them. Glad Ray finally got his package!
Me too! I was scared it got lost!
I hate the idea of people not getting mail :/
I love the “20 things you may not know about my childhood” thing! I think that’s an interesting way to keep the constant learning about each other that you do when you’re around one another going while he’s on deployment! Also, I never realized that people got so few packages while on deployment. Next time someone I know goes on deployment, I’ll be sure to send something!
Well, I didn’t think of it that way, haha! I just figured that we generally don’t have a lot to TALK about when we do talk, so writing to him about the interesting part of my day seems counter intuitive. Haha. So I’m writing him random stuff. Really. Random. Stuff.
But sure! I was being all psychological about it
I only got two to mine. Xmas and V-day. That was all I really had time for.
I understand ya on the time thing. I am so stupid busy, I’ve had a half-decorated care package on my ottoman for almost 2 weeks.
